“The power of God brings deliverance to the captive. No power can withstand divine Love.” (Science and Health, page 224)

We may feel at times that we are captive to and captivated by what the senses are telling us or to limiting circumstances or personal relationships that seem challenging. We may feel stuck and without recourse or in need of a miracle to set us free.

Prepare for a rescue! It is our constant preoccupation with trouble and with fear that paralyzes us and blinds us to our solution. If we invest power in matter and ego, not to mention agree to anger and self-justification and doubt, we are turning from the power which is readily available to lead us naturally to peace and freedom.

This power is divine Love. This is our savior. Divine Love is God’s own infinite strength and tenderness. It is that which doesn’t need to fight for victory, but by its own all-encompassing goodness, kindness, leaves nothing left to fight.

The marginal heading for this quote reads: “mental emancipation.” As Love is accepted in thought; as we agree to receive without reservation its absolving, resolving grace, the doors to freedom are opened to us. Our uplifted attitude gives us new and clear vision. We can see things as they really are and begin to feel and act like the free and beloved ones of God Who is Almighty—always powerful, always winning, always with us and for us and always ready to deliver us with invincible Love.
